4th Team Vs Finchfield 4

Another day another rearranged 4th team league fixture. Today we welcomed Finchfield to Lilleshall on a bitterly cold day. First problem a frozen pitch, after a spray from the sprinklers the pitch was deemed playable (just).

The second problem the opposition had gone to WGS, cue a 45 minute delay. When the game eventually began it was a fairly even affair. Lally found himself clear early on but fluffed his effort, the umpire blowing for a swing and miss. Finchfield proved to be more potent in attack and took the lead. Wulfs came close through Dunn but went in behind at half time.

The second half was a similar affair, possession fairly even but Finches making more clear chances. The nearest wulfs came to an equaliser was when Dunn pressured the defender into almost turning a Lally cross into his own net. Finches wrapped things up just before the end.

Two games in two days, many weary souls at work on Monday morning.

Finally we can confirm that Zorof Khan late of this parish is very much still around,  and plays the occasional game of Hockey.
