Match Report | The 4ths visited Lichfield 5ths for an early start in their rearranged league fixture. In the first half it was evident that the mid season break had taken more of a toll on the Wulfs than their young opponents. Sloppy and indecisive play meant we went to half time 4 goals down, with only a Murray shot just wide to show for our efforts. At half time we pushed another player forward and as a team decided to just go for it and see what arises. We got an early breakthrough with Lally finding Thompson in the D who swept home. Wulfs continued to press and hassle, Lally passed to Jandu who returned the favour and Lally shot and scored into the corner. The home side were visibly rattled. With 5 minutes to go Lally took the ball down the wing outsprinted the young defender took the ball along the byeline and crossed to Jandu who finished with style. With two minutes to go Minton appeared to be fouled in the attacking half, but play was waived on, the young legs of Lichfield worked the ball down the other end of the pitch and killed the game off. Four goals was a step too far but a creditable reaction to an indifferent first half performance.
