Match Report | This week brought the arrival of newly promoted Bridgnorth 6ths to WGS. After the leaves were cleared the game started in glorious sunshine. Unfortunately the first half was far from sparkling. Both sides struggling with their touch and passing. Of the few clear chances Lally was foiled by a double save by the opposition keeper. The second half was thankfully a brighter affair, with the young Wulfs Becket, Wilson, Sankey and Murray feeding off flicks and passes from Lally to get in behind the opposition back line. While the clear chances didn't materialize the game was being played in the Bridge half. Finally the deadlock was broken by Wilson from a good team passing move. Soon after Wilson doubled the lead from a short corner routine engineered by Mann and Anderson. The opposition heads didn't drop and with five minutes remaining they worked an equaliser from a run and cross. Unlike last week Wulfs managed possession for the remainder of the game to seal the victory. A good day at the office for the Wulfs rarely troubled at the back and bossing possession where it mattered. A good game played in a good spirit by both sides, no cards and not a single player spoken to. Next week we travel to Sutton, let's keep the good start to the season going |
