Match Report | With a cloud covered sky, and what little remained of the sun dropping Old Wulfs 3's took to the pitch! As the game began with the ball flying from end to end a cross fired into the attacking D, by SGT Elliot Gwilt, was met by CPL Garry O’Sullivan who smartly hit it home, bringing the first of our goals. Almost as soon as the match restarted we were back on the attack, winning a short corner for a foul in the D with GUNNER Martin Jandu, stepping up to the plate, and with his customary accuracy and route one velocity, slotting it into the goal to make it 2-0. The game continued at a high pace and we carried on pushing Solihull Bloss hard and were rewarded again with PVT James Dunn, running the ball down the wing, crossing it into the D for “GUNNER” to take the touch, pivot and fire the ball into the heart of goal for a third! Some pressure late in the half from Solihull Bloss was ably absorbed by the very expereinced defensive linr and as the half-time whistle blew we took the opportunity to take stock and rest for a moment, With the second half well and truly under floodlights we now had to battle for the big win! With another ball ending up at the feet of, the GUNNER, moments into the second half, the inevitable shot ensued - 3 now for the GUNNER making it 4-0. Having had a player or two take their ease for a couple of minutes coutesy of green cards, Solihull tool advantage of one period where we were understrength to win a short corner and with a well taken shot managed to pull a goal back. This gaol came durinmg a period of sustained pressure from Solihull Bloss but we again absorbed this very effectively and took the wind out of their sails again when close to the final whistile the ball was fired in to the GUNNER via PVT James who (clearly with his eye on retaining his gaolscorer of the year trophy yet again!) calmly put away his forth goal to make it 5-1., Final whistle Man Of The Match “GUNNER” Martin Jandu Till next week “hurahhhh” well done to all. |
