Match Report | A super team game and sublime goals that just need to be described as follows... Ricky scored from a perfect short corner drag out from Nightingale to precision stopper Roberts, Ricky with side skip footwork picked the ball on the edge of the D and dragged into the top net so hard breaking some plastic net holders.. Sam Buckley grabbed his from walking into the D with a ballet style twist and turn keeping the ball close to him and leaving the defenders aghast with his skill finally rounding the keeper and quick flick into the net - cue more plastic thingies broken!! Simon Evans made his 2nd team run-ot with a sprint from the right calling Sam on the way into the D. Sam sends a stunning bullet of a flat ball into the D and at the same point Simon starts sliding along the pitch stick angled perfect for a solid deflect into the roof on the nett! These plastic thingies holding the nett just give up!! Finally Andy Hobley sealed the game for Old Wulfs with a perfect fake move to break away from the defender placing himself outside the near goalpost, Ed Hole having one of his super splendor days looked up spotted Andy and sent him the perfect aimed shot to be very jealous off to which Andy calmly deflected the ball behind all defenders and the keeper making it 4-0 to Old Wulfs... If only all match reports were written by the goal scorers eh..........
Ricky's goal came form a drag short, their keeper blocks it with his pads who then back healed the ball into the goal by accident. Sams came from a mad 30 second thrash by attackers and defenders trying to shift the ball in their prefered direction with failure. Simons... well I think we need to bring in a snicko-meter to understand if he did touch it. Andy got his after realising Ed is having such a bad day aiming his hits that he might as well stand away from the goal to get the ball and so he did after another of Ed's miss-strikes! Sam was blessed with 2 rest periods to allow him to roll his fag on the sideline! ( I assume that was what he requested to the umpires) Ricky threw so many ariel balls he 'got bored' doing them! But honestly, once we settled into shape and understod the bounce of the pitch we played well, called well, marked well, ran into space well and just got on with the job well. Simple
Well done lads - good win MOTM - Andy DOTD - Sam Most frustraited player of the day - Ed
