Match Report

A second game in a row at home for Old Wulf as they welcomed Newtown.

Straight away, OWHC dictated the tempo and forced Newtown to launching aerials to ease the pressure on their defence.

The first goal came as Ash Taylor wiggled some shooting room in the D and got a shot off, Archie Harris was well placed to deflect the ball through the keeper's legs.

Half time: OWHC 1-0 Newtown

The second half saw OWHC looking to push on, however Newtown came out firing and won a hotly disputed short corner. Nonetheless the chance was wasted and with too many Newtown players forward, Shave sent the ball up the pitch first time for Ashworth to go one on one. With Sam Aldersley storming up alongside him, he passed across the keeper for Sam to sweep home.

The third goal came from a short corner. Puv Samra was given the ball and his mis-hit shot bounced and bobbled under the keeper's comical effort to kick the ball away.

The fourth goal came from Sam Aldersley once again. I cannot remember his goal so will quote his riveting words to me from whatsapp - "actually I think i was some sort of cross in and then I just swept it in righ".

The fifth goal came from another short corner. Ash Taylor played a one two with Palmer to open himself in space and placed the ball in the bottom corner beyond the keeper's reach.

As the game entered the final minute, Archie Harris collected the ball on their 25 and drove into the D, with Shave and Callum Nightingale either side of him, he passed to Callum who took advantage of the space left at the near post by the keeper to put away a low finish.

A good game for OWHC as they continue their hunt for promotion.
