Match Report

Old Wulfs began and ended their cup run at the last years finalists Ludlow, Despite having a very different team the expected Old Wulfs put in a tremendous display against stronger opposition. Old WUlfs rode thier luck a little in the game with Abalrd clearing two chances off the line, Sam Coleman stopping a clear goal scoring opportunity and Elliot Gwilt throwing everying on the line stop Ludlow Scoring. The hard work of the midfields and forwards meant at half time the score was 0-0.

The weekends matches and the intensity of the game had had its effects on the players and Ludlow upped their game for the first 10 minutes of the second half, getting themsleves into a 2-0 lead as Old Wulfs were caught ball watching and didn't follow their runners as both the goals were tap ins at the back post, meaning Luke could do nothing about them. Old Wulfs conuntued to press for a way back and were hindered when captain Mike Brich got a Yellow card (reasons unknown) and went down to 10 men, however with 5 minutes before full time Old Wulfs got their break through. It started with great centre forward play from Callum, he shielded the ball, turned and lifted the ball over the defenders stick, he slid in Griff, who beat the keeper at his near post for 2-1. Old Wulfs continued to press but ran out of time.

Despite the loss all the players walked off the pitch knowing they had played extremly well and had done themsleves and the club proud! Good Luck to Ludlow in the next round.
