Match Report | In the last friendly before the season starts Old Wulfs took on last seasons league winners Stafford. Stafford pressured high up the pitch and forced Luke in goal into some early saves. Against the run of play Old Wulfs took the lead when an error in the Stafford defence allowed Kam to score with a looping shot. Stafford almost responded immediately as they had a disallowed goal after the ball hit their players foot before scoring the rebound. Initially the umpires gave the goal, but Stafford owned up to the infringement. Stafford did not have to wait long to score. They got their equalising goal when Old Wulfs failed to to deal with a short corner. Stafford deserved to be level on the balance of play and most likely should have been ahead. 1-1 at half time. Old Wulfs took the lead early in the second half griff chased down an aerial ball and managed to squeeze a shot beyond the keeper for 2-1. Stafford immediately countered as a defence error gifted them an equaliser. Stafford then took the lead another error this time in midfield allowed an over load of the defence and Stafford made no mistake. 2-3. Old Wulfs got an equaliser after a small amount of sustained pressure. Birch drilled a ball in to the dee and Litchy was on hand to deflect in 3-3. Stafford were not done and after a well built attack took the lead and with it the win 3-4 On the balance of play Stafford deserved the win, they were much more compact and moved the ball well.
