Match Report | The 4ths met North Staffs 4ths on a cold November 5th. Unfortunately in a lamentable first half performance there were no fireworks in their play as they succumbed to five opposition goals. Indeed the final two goals occurred with the opposition down to 10 men through injury. The 2nd half was a much more memorable affair for the Wulfs with two green cards (Hill for a mistimed tackle and Cooper for hitting the ball away), one yellow card (Lally penalised for a last ditch foul at the edge of the D). It also brought three Jandu goals - a touched shot under the oncoming keeper - a run and shot - a shot from a Lally run and cross We also had a couple of near misses (O'Sullivan and Jandu). The opposition were worried but we unfortunately ran out of time to complete an impossible comeback. A much better 2nd half performance but not enough to make up for a poor start. Positives - Pearson and Duhra (S) continue to settle well into league hockey. Wall had a good spell terrorising on the wing. Next week we travel to Finchfield. |
