Match Report | Man of the match ..... Matt Willies
The Old Wulfrunians 3rd team have been in inspiring form as seen from their recent results. The lads knew they had a tough game ahead of them against Bromsgrove, however Old Wulfs were confident that they could bring home yet another win to add to their tally of wins, despite them having a challenge ahead of them. The game started off as every game starts now with a lot of attacking play and a lot of goal scoring opportunities being created from the get go. And that attacking play lead to a very early goal from a short corner that was deflected in by Simon which put the team up 1-0 very early on and this gave us a lot of confidence to claim victory from this game. Bromsgrove did manage to put away an equaliser that managed to sneakpast Dill who really couldn’t have done much else to keep it out. However this was not enough to make the lads lose concentration and so they fought and fought until the goal that they deserved came from Ryan who manages to tap the ball past the keeper and then see us into half time with a 2-1 lead. The second half started no different to the first half and there was a lot attacking and counter-attacking play that would hopefully give the lads a more convincing lead. And this goal sure did come from some beautiful passing play down the right hand side and then the ball fell to the stick of Simon who grabs his second goal of the game and also gives his team a healthier 3-1 lead to take a lot of pressure off of the lads if they were to concede. But the defensive line remained solid and did well not to concede any goals in the second half. And the midfield and attack played just as good and the icing on the cake came from Matt who bags himself a goal and also seals the win for his team at 4-1. Another amazing performance from Old Wulfs against Bromsgrove and this now gives them a 4 game win streak which is fantastic! This only sets the lads up for more brilliant performances and wins in their future games to come.
