Match Report

It’s been a good run so far for the Old Wulfs third team, and with two consecutive wins from the lads in their previous games, they were only looking to keep the win streak up against Leamington.

The game started off positively for Old Wulfs. Like in previous games the lads have gone out fighting from the very beginning with a lot of attacking play from our lads. And it didn’t take long for the first goal to come. Just 5 minutes in and Jandu manages to slot his first of four goals home in the bottom left corner which gave our lads the momentum to keep attacking and to win the game. This momentum therefore lead to Jandu’s second goal which just gave Old Wulfs the confidence they needed to provide Jandu with his third and fourth goals which were all put away in the bottom left hand corner which gave the lads a strong 4-0 lead into half time.

The second half started just as well as the first half with a lots of chances and opportunities being created by Old Wulfs but they were just unfortunate not to put these chances away. Leamington, despite being 4-0 down, were still playing some very good hockey and managed to break through our defence a few times and managing to create some solid chances, however it was not enough for them to beat Craig in goal on the day who pulled off a magnificent save in this second half with his left foot and Harj pulled off a brilliant goal line clearance too which provided us with a clean sheet at the end of the game and the final score was 4-0.

Back to back away wins for our lads puts Old Wulfs third team in a very strong position in the league and with three wins on the bounce for the lads they will only look to grab more wins from their future games to come.
