Match Report

The first game of the season saw a hard game for Old Wulfs against Streetly in what turned out to be a quality end to end game despite the harsh weather and conditions that the lads faced on the day.

The game started off with lots of attacking play from both teams. However the first goal came from Streetly in the first half of the first half with some passing around in the D leading to shot that just manages to beat Dillworth into the net. However this did not de-motivate the lads as they manage to break through off a counter attack with some lovely passing play from Matt, Owain and Simon, who then manages to play a square ball into Jandu who slots the ball just passed the keepers right hand side. The score at half time was 1-1

The second half began with Old Wulfs attacking promisingly down both the left and right hand side of the pitch however they were unfortunate to not find glory. And then Streetly managed to find glory from a well worked short corner which gave them a 2-1 lead. The boys did not lose faith with some brilliant attacking play from wingers Seb and Simon but the hard work did not result in a goal. Streetly then managed to find 2 more goals which gave them a 4-1 lead but Old Wulfs didn’t give up. Old Wulfs were deserving of a goal from Matt who manages to work the ball away from the keeper’s pads after a sliding save however Matt puts the ball just wide of the post meaning the boys suffered a 4-1 loss

An unlucky defeat for our 3rd team boys who didn’t lose spirit at all through the entire game. Such a promising performance from the lads will hopefully see them success in the long season awaiting them.
