Match Report | This week saw a trip to Solihull with Wulfs now playing for pride with an unlucky loss to a strong Redditch team last week ruling out any possibility of promotion. The game started well with Wulfs pressing and creating chances from the start but being unable to make an attack stick in the final third. The game opened up as Solihull used a very strong central midfield partnership to drive forwards, however this caused them problems as they pushed up as a team but weren't always disciplined at getting back. Wulfs made the most of this and before long a Tibble run resulted in a ball crossed to Cal who finished well. Two well worked Wulfs short corners resulted in a slipped ball to Andy Cooper being slapped perfectly into the bottom corner and a ball back to the injector being dispatched by Chris. The final goal came from Chris hitting the ball from just inside the 25 for McNay to glance into the bottom corner. Wulfs did experience some periods of pressure from Solihull, particularly whilst twice being temporarily down to 10 after both Chris's were sent for some time on the naughty chair. We weathered this well though and in the end saw out a comfortable 4-0 win. Man of the match goes to Andy Cooper who made some outstanding runs down the left, assisting one goal and scoring another. The Solihull right back was probably glad of the final whistle. Next week we welcome Wolverhampton for the local derby. |
