Match Report

Old Wulfs this week welcomed top of the table West Brom in a must win game to keep their promotion chances alive.

The game got off to a bad start for Old Wulfs as an early error allowed a tap in for West Brom despite Colin's best efforts. This was to be West Brom's only effort of note in the first half as Old Wulfs then stepped up a gear or two and began to dominate the game. West Brom's only relief from the relentless Old Wulfs pressure was to throw Long balls in the hope of finding their attackers. Old Wulfs finally got their break through when Ablard played in will for a back post deflection. 1-1 at half time.

Old Wulfs continued their dominance in the second half and went in front through Litchy, which was well merited on the balance of play. Old Wulfs then went looking for the third goal. Old Wulfs had a short cleared off the line and forced a series of short corners, unfortunately none of these opportunities were taken. A rare attack from West Brom forced another error from Old Wulfs when the ball bounced of Colin's kicker to a West Brom centre forward who could hardly miss 2-2. Old Wulfs still seeking that all important third goal left themselves exposed and a counter attack resulted in a 3rd West Brom goal. 3-2 the final score. A disappointed result to a match which was dominated by Old Wulfs.

Old Wulfs would like to congratulate West Brom on their promotion and wish them well for the following season.

Old Wulfs promotion chases are all but gone for another year, where the first half of the seasons away performance cost us to many much needed points. Old Wulfs have one fixture remaining against Pershore where Old Wulfs will look to end the season on a positive.
