Match Report | In the latest league game Old Wulfs came up against a Droitwich side who have had a mixed season so far. Old Wulfs from the first whistle pressed and dominate the chances and possession, playing the better hockey and creating the better chances. This was demonstrated by Old Wulfs having a 2-0 lead at half time that in reality should have been six or seven. Fluid hockey and quick shaper passing presented Shave with the opening goal. The second goal came as a result of Old Wulfs recycling the ball and pulling Droitwich out of position to give Griff another tap in at the back post. 2-0 at half time
Old Wulfs then fell asleep at the start of the second half, which resulted in a series of errors that gifted Droitwich with a goal making the game 2-1. This then became 2-2 as Droitwich gained confidence from having a goal. The Droitwich centre forward was given a half chance on the top of the D and he finished with a strike into the bottom corner 2-2. Despite the scoreline Old Wulfs continued to press and went back to basics playing the ball around as they did in the first half. Goals from Litchy, Shave and Birch gave the scoreline a better reflection on the Old Wulfs dominance on the game. Old Wulfs now need to work on focussing for the full 70 minutes and closing out games. Next week West Brom.
Man of the Match: Darryl Ablard DOD - Louis and his very... very short shorts (not pleasant viewing) |
