Match Report | Mansfield seems a long way to travel for a hockey match but it's even further back home when you lose. On a rather weird playing surface Wulfs rocked up with an unfamiliar side including Minton, Cooper and Adam Aldersley making his 1st team debut. Mansfield demonstrated appalling taste in music before the game by blasting it across the pitch. Were we playing hockey or were we at the blue oyster bar?? Anyway I won't dwell on the game, but to say that Adam grew in confidence throughout, Andy threatened in the second half, Gareth got man of the match, and the umpires turned up. George and Mark had to count their fingers at the end of the game. A clever goal from Griffiths picking up a pass from a free hit at the top of the circle and smashing home, and a nice penalty corner deflection in from Litchfield should have been enough for the win. Mansfield's second was a beauty, the other two I cannot comment on as Steve Rowlands will surely edit my text! I can tell you that I have never tasted chilli and rice quite like that before and that I'm writing this as I sit on the toilet. |
