| Match Report | By a strange quirk of the fixture list we had A&W in a friendly the week before the first league fixture also against A&W. They will think there's nothing to worry about after a sound win for the visitors. Two extremely sloppy goals conceded in the first half, and a lack of shape that allowed them to attack effectively made us look a far inferior side. The second half was better but and we could have scored but for some laxity in front of goal, and Aldridge sealed the win with two more. A very solid performance from debut man Simon Palmer was the highlight of a fairly dismal showing. |
