The badgers faced the mighty West Brom, and with a vast array of older players who were clearly much better and would easily play at a much higher level, it was a daunting prospect for a very young team. We travelled with 14, so the decision was made to only play with 2 adults as West Brom were playing with none. The badgers defended brilliantly, but saw few chances in the first half. West Brom passed well, attacked hard and went 3-0 ahead for half time. It was looking very worrying for the second half, but the badgers are a resilient bunch and just kept on doing their thing, defending well (James and Dan T were fantastic), holding the ball well in midfield (Thomas, Jack and Sahib) and occasionally breaking the line through Ben and Joe. Dan also made some great saves. Moment of the match came when Ben tackled, took the ball off and tapped the ball through a huge defenders legs and then ran on goal. Cries of 'you were mugged' came from the other West Brom back line. Incredibly, the badgers held West Brom to 0-0 in the second half. Jack and Ben were voted men of the match. Great effort, well done lads!
