Match Report |
Awesome, absolutely awesome! This badgers team exceeded all expectations. Individually and as a team, this was the best game this season and probably for the last few. In the first half, the Badgers held their shape well, played wide and played each other into the game with excellent passing. Thomas, Jack and Sahib dominated the midfield, ensuring we stayed in Sutton's half. Errors were forced and on a second short corner, Jack smashed the first goal home. Some excellent midfield play from Sutton was countered well, the Badgers pushed forward again, Ben took an opportunity and slapped it home. More great passing hockey followed, each player looking for the next pass beautifully. After further penetration in the D, Paul took up his practiced position on the right and struck home. 3-0 at half time. More great wide play in the second half and this fit and improving team continued to dominate and absorb the counters when they came. Paul got another great goal, and the highlight of the match, Harry at centre forward took his chance and scored the 5th. 5-0 at full time, compared to a 6-1 loss when we played them last. Excellent performances from every player (Dan had a quieter one, but saved two good chances for a clean sheet), Sahib was great on the right, Jack dominated the left and Thomas orchestrated the midfield. James and Billy tackled well, strengthening the defence. Harry was voted man of the match, by his team. A very proud three Dads, well done everyone!
