Match Report

The Badgers came up against tough and useful opposition at home to Streetly. They were much stronger through the centre of the pitch, containing this was a huge challenge in the first half. Streetly quickly went two ahead with good, well structured passing hockey. Our badgers team pulled their socks up and got stuck back in. Thomas, Jack , Callum and Sahib got more organised in midfield, marking improved and some chances soon came. On his debut, Joe got in a great position and slapped one home. Streetly countered and scored again, 3-1 to Streetly at half time. What happened in the second half was nothing less than miraculous, having taken on a few tips at the break, marking became effective and the main attackers from Streetly were neutralised. More chances were created from the midfield and both Callum and Paul struck home great goals on the break. The Badgers won the second half and were unlucky not to get another through a disallowed goal and a number of chances as Streetly ran out of legs. It finished 3-3, fantastic effort. Another great performance from Dan in goal and Jack on the left, but the players voted Joe as man of the match for a confident first game and important goal which turned the game. Well done everyone!
