Match Report | It was a must-win game, and we won. From the start Wulfs looked too strong for King's Heath, with Kam deputising for Minton who was made late by a hospital appointment but otherwise unchanged. The visitors attempted to press hard early on but with only one man up-front they never got enough men coming forward to trouble the imperious Dave Cartwright. George nearly scored with an attempted volley that turned into an air-shot, but it was Birch who opened the scoring with a bobbling effort that eventually crept over the line with the help of a defender. King's Heath had a chance from a penalty corner but the drag flick was saved low to the keeper's right. Peters doubled the score with the best goal of the game, a neat one-two with Ablard who drew the keeper before another pass to Peters for an easy finish. Wulfs could have had a third but for a point-blank save. Wulfs really took charge in the second half, despite only grabbing one more goal. Will Ashworth was tireless in attack running deep and finding space, while Birch popped up all over the place to help punish King's Heath. Griffiths finished off the scoring, deflecting home a penalty corner, and the visitors could only berate the umpires rather than try and get back into the game.
