Match Report

Three points were required but one point was a fair result.

Playing a slightly altered formation Wulfs settled well and created chances. Ludlow reacted by pressing high and forcing errors. Simon Palmer martialled the defence as usual to great effect and the threat of the Pratt was largely neutralised.

George Jandu almost scored the opener with a neat deflection just wide. But Ludlow went ahead thanks to their own deflected effort, but this time off a Wulfs stick.

Wulfs equaliser was a thing of beauty; Wilson turned supplier, Ashworth from a tight angle chopped the ball past a thunderstruck keeper high into the net.

Both keepers had to make saves to keep the half time score at 1-1.

The second period remained a tight affair with few chances at either end. Ludlow had a penalty stroke appeal turned down, and began to lose their discipline. Mike Birch linked with Matt Litchfield to good effect and Wilson forced a save from a penalty corner. But once again the visitors took the lead when a well-hit cross was converted with about 10 minutes to go. This time it was Wilson who found the equaliser, giving the keeper no chance from the shot.

Wulfs couldn't force a famous victory in the few remaining minutes and a draw was a fair result.
