Match Report | As so often, a promising performance but no points to show for it, but a least a massive improvement compared to the reverse against Wolverhampton. Wulfs started with a strong spell of possession thanks to the backbone of Palmer/Cartright, Ablard/Roberts in defence and midfield. Fast passing moves showed the team had shaken off the excesses of the Yule period, and paid off with a number of chances culminating in a penalty corner buried by Birch. The visitors were rather fortunate to be level at half-time thanks to a botched penalty corner which was then deflected home. The second half was a similar picture with Jandu causing palpitations in the Aldridge defence and some cards were shown for some injudicious tackles. Unfortunately Aldridge took the lead while they were a man down thanks to breakaway move and one-on-one with the keeper. Their final goal though was a nice drag-flick. Still chances came for Wulfs with Wilson looking dangerous, Ashworth and Birch working hard on the flanks but Wulfs couldn't get back into contention.
