Match Report | There was a distinctly upbeat feeling after this game despite another loss. Streetly sitting third in the league were clearly expecting a walk in the park but ended up bloodied and relieved. Dave Cartwright stepped in to partner Palmer in the middle of defence filling the boots of Ben Humpherson (back injury). With Dave Ward also missing (in Malta??) and Ashworth (Glasgow???) Wulfs had to be organised in defence, and for the most part, were. The first Streetly goal came from a disputed penalty corner, and featured a chunk of luck as the drag flick deflected wickedly into the goal. Then towards the end of the half Ablards hamstring created more problems and Wulfs had to finish the game with 11. Palmer controlled things at the back and up front Jandu had his best game for the 1sts. But Streetly made it two with another dubious goal. Wilson marked his return to the 1sts with a solid performance capped with a precise drag flick to pull it back to 2-1. Streetly were reduced to 10 for a while and Wulfs pressed hard for an equaliser, creating a number of chances. With seconds to go Wulfs came agonisingly close with a shot that the keeper just got a toe to, and players arrived at the back post a millisecond too late to finish the chance.
