Match Report | This postponed match played at The Royal School saw Leek bring a young team with a few experienced heads, in contrast to our experienced team with a few young legs. Leek clearly decided to start the game at pace, however thanks to our warm-up routine, we were on our toes ready to repel them, and within 5 minutes we had won a short corer from which Puv scored at a pace. This somewhat blunted Leek’s enthusiasm, and we gained control of the game. We attacked well with Adam Tustin and Lawrence linking well forcing Leek’s goalkeeper to pull off some good saves. Old Wulfs scored a second after around 20 minutes With Andy Hamilton’s half time warning that 2-0 was a dangerous score, we started the second half with an almost immediate third goal from Adam Tustin who ran rings round Leek’s defence. He followed up this goal with a further 2 goals. At 5-0 up we were caught out with an aerial ball into our 25, which we failed to control properly, the Leek attacker guided the ball round Steve Saunders in goal and it trickled over the goal line. However Ed Carver decided that we still wanted a 5 goal difference and achieved this by connecting with a cross from Lawrence at the top of the D. Job done! |
