Sutton were clearly very organised from the start, but not intimidated by the very professional warm-up, this young badgers team started well, building on the experience of the last few weeks, with good movement from Thomas, Bhav and Jack in midfield and good shape. Sutton were strong coming forward and scored through some good passing hockey into the D. After some great chances from the badgers, with Anya, Harry and Callum finding some great positions up front, Sutton broke through again scored their second which was a much softer goal. 2-0 at half time, and feeling fairly confident after a great first half performance. One simple change in tactics at half time, saw the badgers defensive line which included James, Billy and Archie push right up the field which made the badgers much stronger in defence and gave the midfield more of a base. There were a number of great chances on goal from Anya and Callum, including a couple of shorts but the badgers were unable to capitalise, but, a positive second half result of 0-0. A really great effort, with some super goal keeping from Dan, topped off by the best moment in the match where Dan expertly dummied an incoming forward to avoid a shot on goal. Dan was voted man of the match by his team. Well done everyone, a clean sheet in the second half was an excellent result.
